As of October 4, 2021, the following provides an overview of Hershey’s current operations. Enabling a safe operating environment to help protect the well-being of our team members and continuing to make more moments of goodness for our consumers remain top priorities. As an employer, we have an important role to play in ending the pandemic, sustaining economic recovery, and ensuring our teammates and their families are as safe as possible. Our leadership team is having ongoing discussions with our medical advisor to understand evolving CDC guidance as the situation progresses.
CORPORATE/ COMMERCIAL OFFICES
We believe we have an important role to play in helping bring an end to this pandemic and vaccination is one of the ways we are taking steps together. We are requiring proof of vaccination for U.S. corporate and commercial employees in line with the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Taking these steps will get us to a place where we can use our offices for collaboration and connection and be together safely. It’s important for our culture, our business agility and future growth. Our U.S. based employees have been working virtually since mid-March 2020. Our offices began to re-open on June 15, 2021 at a limited capacity and with enhanced safety protocols in alignment with CDC guidelines.
Our Manufacturing facilities and distribution centers continue to utilize best-in-class safety protocols to maintain food security and supply. These enhanced protocols will not change for the foreseeable future. Our safety protocols include wearing masks, physical distancing and temperature checks when checking into work each day, in addition to adjusted work schedules and work teams to ensure employee safety. We are also encouraging our employees to follow the recommended and mandated guidelines outside of work, adhering to all government health and safety protocols. We are increasing our efforts to educate and encourage vaccination but are not requiring vaccination for our manufacturing team members at this time.
We continue to work closely with our retail partners as they modify operations and in-store guidelines for their teams. Our retail sales team is equipped with additional protective measures and flexible schedules to ensure health and safety while continuing to keep our brands on shelves for people to enjoy. We are increasing our efforts to educate and encourage vaccination but are not requiring vaccination for our sales team members at this time. If the Hershey team member is working in a location with additional safety protocols, we will abide by retailer or other customer guidelines in addition to our policy which follows CDC guidance.
Our international markets are experiencing different phases of this global pandemic and, as such, are operating within local public health and government guidance and market need.

All HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD locations are open for shopping and take-out treats with enhanced safety protocols. Please visit the HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD website for more details. We continue to follow CDC guidance for mask wearing as our HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD locations are in various cities around the world. We are increasing our efforts to educate and encourage vaccination but are not requiring vaccination for our HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD team members at this time.
To date, The Hershey Company has committed over $2 million in cash and product donations to support COVID-19 response efforts around the world. Our corporate giving team is working closely with our community nonprofit partners to ensure they are supported during this time. We anticipate that our support and community response efforts will continue to evolve in the weeks and months to come as the situation develops.
