JOHN P. BILBREY
Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer
J.P. Bilbrey is proud to lead The Hershey Company as it grows internationally, not only into new countries and new categories, but also in its work to provide basic nutrition to kids around the world so they can learn and grow. He brings more than 30 years of consumer packaged goods experience to bear, having been instrumental in the growth of some of the world’s largest and best-known brands. He draws on broad international experience having worked in more than 50 countries.
During his tenure at Hershey, Bilbrey has led the North America business, the international business and served as Chief Operating Officer. Bilbrey joined Hershey in 2003, following senior leadership positions at Mission Foods, Danone Waters of North America and Procter & Gamble. Bilbrey graduated from Kansas State University and currently serves on the Kansas State University Business Advisory Council, and on the Boards of Directors of McCormick & Company, The Hershey Company, Enactus, and the Grocery Manufacturers Association. He is also a U.S. private sector member of the Obama Administration’s U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum and U.S.-Africa Business Forum.
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Buck brings more than 25 years of consumer packaged goods experience to her executive role. She leads Hershey’s day-to-day North American operations and oversees Hershey’s operations in Central and South America. The company’s global supply chain, sales, marketing, innovation, research and development, and consumer and shopper analytics and insights capabilities also report to Buck.
Before joining Hershey in 2005, Buck served 17 years at Kraft/Nabisco in numerous senior positions and at the Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo.
She serves on the Board of Directors at New York Life, and as a Benefit Co-Chair for the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation. A native of central Pennsylvania, Buck earned a Bachelor’s degree at Shippensburg University and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer
A member of Hershey’s Global Leadership Team, Peter is focused on driving next generation marketing excellence, leading global innovation, managing the global retail network, and stewarding Hershey’s iconic brands.
Prior to Hershey, Peter worked for Capital One Financial Corporation as Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, where he supported its lines of business in credit cards, branch and digital banking, home loans, auto finance and international markets.
While at Capital One, Peter was instrumental in diversifying its brand across business segments, designing and launching industry-leading products, and developing iconic marketing programs. Peter brings 28 years of experience across diverse industries, including consumer packaged goods, financial services, digital security and telecom.
Peter holds an M.B.A in Marketing and General Management from Dartmouth College, Tuck School of Business and a B.A. in History and Literature from Harvard. Peter and his wife have four adult children and live in the Hershey, PA area.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Patricia Little is excited to be a catalyst at a company with some of the most emotionally salient brands in the world. In her role, Little oversees the global finance organization and is a member of Hershey’s Global Leadership Team. Prior to joining Hershey in March 2015, Little was Chief Financial Officer at Kelly Services, Inc., where she championed strategic investments and expansion through the recession, identified opportunities in emerging markets, and executed a strategic acquisition and a joint venture.
Prior to Kelly Services, Little spent 24 years with Ford Motor Company, holding corporate and operational finance leadership roles. Her extensive knowledge of global finance enables her to help create value and drive growth. Little has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Drake University and a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon. She serves on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Audit Committee of McCormick & Company, Inc. After work, she gets all the way out of the office to enjoy mountain hiking and backpacking.
Senior Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer
Terence O’Day’s focus on production efficiencies impacts both Hershey revenue and environmental stewardship. His efforts result in efficiencies in our global supply chain, including sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, quality, regulatory compliance, facilities and flight operations functions. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience in a variety of manufacturing and operations roles. Prior to joining Hershey in 2008, O’Day was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Mannatech, Inc., and Executive Vice President of Operations at ConAgra Foods in the Refrigerated Foods Group.
O’Day has also held senior leadership roles at Kraft and Nabisco Foods Group. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, where he attained the rank of Major. O’Day holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University.
Senior Vice President, Chief Research and Development Officer
William Papa is excited for the opportunity to transform Hershey from a confection company to a confection and snacking company. Papa is responsible for the company’s upstream research, technology, packaging and product development functions and leads a team in developing new product and packaging innovations. Prior to joining Hershey in October 2012, Papa worked at Procter & Gamble in roles of increasing responsibility in the Research & Development department, most recently as Director, Personal Beauty Care Research & Development.
Papa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He has exceptional sensory skills and is a certified expert “cupper” (expert taster). He also serves as a wine judge. While at Procter & Gamble, Papa was a long time community volunteer for the city of Wyoming, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati). He was also a three-term City Councilman in Wyoming, where he served on or chaired five city committees.
Steven Schiller is the President for China and Asia region, The Hershey Company, responsible for leading Hershey’s overall businesses in China and Asia. Schiller is also the chairman and Legal Representative for Shanghai Golden Monkey.
Schiller held different senior management roles within The Hershey Company. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President, Sweets & Refreshment Strategic Business Unit, responsible for leading the global strategic direction of all aspects of S&R businesses, including full P&L growth and delivery, acquisition and growth strategy, marketing and innovation activities.
Prior to that position, he was Vice President, Marketing, Hershey International, where he led the central and local marketing teams to create and drive the International Division’s P&L. He developed brand-centric growth models, sustainable marketing capability and led the Marketing and Innovation growth initiatives. Before that, Schiller served as Vice President, Marketing Excellence, where he was responsible for developing world-class advertising creative, media plans, design, packaging, consumer promotions and product publicity.
Prior to joining Hershey in 2008, Schiller was Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, for the Steak ’n Shake Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for leading all marketing, strategy and innovation activities for this mid-sized restaurant company. Prior to Steak ’n Shake, he held positions both domestically and internationally in Marketing and General Management at The Coca-Cola Company and The Colgate-Palmolive Company.
Schiller holds a bachelor’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Steven currently also serves on the Executive Board of the National Confectioners Association and the Advisory Board of the Chief Marketing Officer Council.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Leslie Turner is proud to apply her experience to a company with such a rich legacy of giving back. In her role, Turner leads oversight for Hershey’s legal, government relations, corporate security and corporate secretary functions. She is a member of Hershey’s Global Leadership Team and the Executive Sponsor of Hershey’s Abilities First Resource Business Group. Prior to joining Hershey in 2012, Turner served as Chief Legal Officer, Coca-Cola North America and as a litigation partner for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
She has served as Assistant Secretary for the Office of Territorial and International Affairs (U.S. Department of the Interior, 1993) and was Counselor to then-Secretary Bruce Babbitt and Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs (U.S. Department of the Interior, 1995). She received a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University, a Master of Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Master of Laws degree from American University, Washington College of Law. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel; Board of Visitors, Georgetown University Law Center; and a trustee, Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs. Turner is also the recipient of several distinguished service awards, including Savoy Magazine’s 2015 Most Influential Black Lawyers. On her time off from work, you may find her scuba diving.
Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer
Kevin Walling is proud of the caliber of people working here at Hershey. As chief architect for Hershey’s human resources strategy, Walling knows how enterprise talent management can fuel growth for the next century. Programs for diversity and inclusion, organizational design, employee engagement and total rewards strategies all add luster to his career at Hershey. His 27 years of human resource experience includes lead roles at Kennametal Inc., where he was responsible for human resource strategy and operations in over 60 countries.
Previously, he led the Human Resources function for Marconi Corporation plc. and Acclaim Entertainment, and served in several management positions with PepsiCo. Walling serves on the Board of Directors of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Lancaster Country Day School and (formerly) the State of Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board. He is a member of HR50 and the HR Policy Association and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Labor Relations from LeMoyne College.
D. MICHAEL WEGE
Senior Vice President, Global Strategy, India, Middle East, and Communications and CSR
D. Michael Wege knows firsthand that goodness gets even better when we all work together. Wege leads a lot of groups, from Global Strategy to the India and Middle East to Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. Wege has held a variety of positions as well, including Chief Commercial Officer; Vice President, U.S. Chocolate & Portfolio Brands; and Vice President, Asia Region.
He joined Hershey in 2002 after starting his career at Procter & Gamble. Wege graduated from Iowa State University with degrees in Economics and Finance, and holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University.
Senior Vice President, Chief Knowledge and Technology Officer
Waheed Zaman oversees the enterprise connectivity, leveraging big data and advanced technologies. transforming our tools and processes to enable Enterprise Connectivity. His team, works in close partnership with the analytics and insights team, is responsible for building capabilities and processes so employees have the knowledge and tools for the company's sucess.
He draws from more than 30 years of leadership experience with large consumer goods companies and applies his expertise in emerging markets, globalizing supply chains, leading information technology teams and sustainability initiatives.
Prior to joining Hershey, Zaman played a leading role in shaping all facets of the supply chain at Chiquita Brands International, where he served as an executive officer and as a member of Chiquita’s management committee. Zaman also spent 15 years at Procter & Gamble, where he led information technology activities for international business units. Zaman holds a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Computer Science and Policy Studies from Dartmouth College.
